One for Water UK is the trade body representing the UK’s water companies, playing a vital role in informing public debate, supporting industry collaboration, and promoting understanding of how water services are managed and regulated.
While water infrastructure and policy are not always popular or visible topics, they are essential to everyday life. One for Water UK exists to bring clarity, evidence and balance to complex issues, helping the public, media and stakeholders engage with the realities of water supply, sustainability and long-term investment.
Sumobaby was proud to be awarded the contract to support One for Water UK’s high-traffic Drupal website, alongside a network of smaller WordPress sites. From the outset, our focus has been on creating a resilient, secure and future-ready technical foundation capable of supporting significant public interest and scrutiny.
We have invested heavily in infrastructure, ensuring systems remain healthy, fully up to date and secure, while continually refining processes to improve reliability and efficiency. A key past project included the design and implementation of a CI/CD pipeline (a system that automates the safe testing and publishing of changes between development and live environments), alongside the introduction of initial automated code testing. This reduced risk, improved consistency and enabled faster, more confident updates across platforms.
Together, this work supports a stable and trustworthy digital presence for an organisation operating in a complex and highly visible public space.
